Does the Nov. 3 2019 deadline to update iphone 5 include the 5s?
I have a 5s that still works beautifully, fits in my pocket, goes everywhere with me. What do I need to do to be sure it still connects to the internet when Nov. 3 passes?
I don't know how to update it. Where can I get help?

The November 3 deadline is for the iPhone 5, not the 5S, not the 5C.
Update your iPhone or iPad software to avoid issues with location - Apple Support
This usually indicates you have an iPhone update file already downloaded to your phone. You will need to delete that file before checking for possible updates.
Note: It will update the device to the most recent, compatible version of iOS, in the case of an iPhone 5S, that will be 12.4.2.
The GPS bug only affects the 5, not the 5c and also not the 5s.
The latest version for your device is 12.4.2, if you can't update to that, try to update with iTunes on a computer instead.

Apple Support, in general, seems to advise updating my phone's ios. When I go into Settings, it says I can update to 10.2.1.
When I tried today to install that, my phone told me it couldn't because I wasn't on the internet. Yet, I WAS on the internet the whole time. Is there anything better than 10.2.1 to upgrade to? And if so, how do I do it?
