HELP: When using a limiter the ceiling of master stereo out is at -1 dB instead of 0.0 dB

See picture. This happens when using stock limiter or Ozone8 limiter

Logic Pro x 10.4.7 adaptive limiter My Stereo Out is peaking at say -3db and not going in the red. When I put an Adaptive Limiter on Stereo out to make it louder my stereo out meter go's into the red even thou my ceiling on adaptive limiter is at -0.1., when I turn up the gain. I used to use protools where the plugin was called Maxim and you just set the ceiling to -0.1db and the stereo out never went in the red however much you compressed. I am doing a mastering project in Loxic ProX and my stereo out is 6 DB quieter than each of my individual channel outs. This is not happening in any other Logic ProX projects I am working on. Adaptive limiter still clipping mix bus Good evening Using the adaptive limiter, I have it set at -0.1 which should mean its NOT clipping, but my stereo out is in the red! Does this mean its clipping or not? Many thanks

Yes, because your Master Fader is not adjusted to 0dB. It's probably around -1dB. (see screenshot)

Some recommendations:

• It's not "bad", to have a little bit of headroom.

• I would recommend to have a limiter as the last plugin in the mastering chain, because you may change the levels with an EQ.
