Does Catalina drops support TWAIN?

It looks like Apple dumped TWAIN in 10.3, circa 2003. As is typical with anything involving 3rd party hardware, TWAIN hung on via proprietary and legacy drivers. Generally, to use TWAIN you would have to install and use the software that came with the printer. You would be lucky if that was even PPC. Any modern drivers used the ICA (Image Capture Architecture).

Seems like I read in a Catalina 10.15.0 beta release that TWAIN was dropped, but cannot find a link to it. If you cannot use Apple's Image Capture with your scanner, see if it is supported by the paid, non-subscription, 64-bit VueScan without any vendor driver or software dependency.

I think Apple dropped TWAIN support about a decade ago. You can try re-installing your scanner driver. Maybe it will work, maybe not.
