I was very pleased with Catalina, but yesterday after upgrading to 10.15.1 I continuously get Kernel Panic on my MP6.1.
Sometimes it happens after wake up from sleep, sometimes after safari browsing.
I have two thunderbolt 2 external raid attached.
Please find below the KP log. Can someone help me reading it?
Mac Pro, macOS 10.15
Turning off BOTH "Power Nap" AND "Put hard disks to sleep" seems to have worked for me. (These are both in System Preferences > Energy Saver).
I haven't actually tried all possible combinations, but:
PowerNap ON/HD Sleep ON →panic occurs
PowerNap ON/HD Sleep OFF → panic occurs
PowerNap OFF/HD Sleep ON → haven't tried yet
PowerNap OFF/HD Sleep OFF → No panic!

If you had a JBOD then any usb enclosures will do. I just ordered cheap USB 3.1 enclosures from amazon. If you want better performance then find one that supports UASP or SCSI over USB

Same issue here with Mac Mini Late 2012 and Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB.
Just tried that will report and see if it make any difference.
I think you might be on to something. I just had a kernal panic happen moments after connecting my Bluetooth headphones. I'm gonna try the cord and see if that helps things.
I'm waiting 10.15.2 to re-install Catalina and give it another try. I was pleased with 10.15 but 10.15.1 ruined my plan.
I didn't have pNAP activated but I got kp.
@rocketinsky Windows 10 is a far more superior OS

I have Catalina on another SSD than the one I'm working (with Mojave).
So I don't try to swap the drives and install 10.15.2. Will wait 10.5.3 directly.
Same here. 10.15.2 didn’t fix the problem for my 2019 iMac with an Akitio Thunder3 RAIDStation.
I[m going to pile on in hopes that this helps to get Apple's attention.
2016 iMac 27". Panics the the same issue. I've unplugged my Thunderbolt 2 external drive. But that's a lame solution.
I never had that screen saver on in the first place. How long have you tested?
It's been 36 hours now without any crashes whereas before it crashed every 3-4 hours.
--Oops. replied to the wrong post. Sorry, thought I was posting to the Catalina crashing thread....
Hope 10.15.3 solve the problem so I can upgrade to Catalina that seems much faster with FCPX and other software than Mojave...
