Microsoft word crashing Macbook pro and causing it to restart on catalina

I am on 16.32 and still crashing as soon as I highlight text in Word. Figured out that it only happens when plugged in as my MacBook switches to the AMD Radeon video card when plugged in and Microsoft uses GPU acceleration that causes the crash with the AMD video card. So is fine with the Intel Iris Pro when running on battery. I switched to Insider Fast updates and went to 16.33 and appears to be okay now. Was extremely annoying!

I updated to 16.31. As of now, no crashes. Thank you. Hoping it stays this way. It has been very difficult to grade papers and write.

What version of word? Older versions may not work well in Catalina.

I'm having the same problem. Haven't found an answer as to why.
