Handoff from iPhone to HomePod not working...

Hello, I have the latest version of IOS on both my iPhone XS Max and HomePod. I start playing music on my iPhone and then hover the phone on the top of my HomePod, but he music does not transfer (no pop up message to transfer music either).

I’ve tried this several times without success. I’ve restarted the HomePod and that hasn’t helped either.

I do notice something weird though. When I select airplay within the Music App, there always two instances of songs shown. One on my iPhone and one showing “connecting” on my HomePod, even if the HomePod is playing a song (see screenshot). I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it?

I fixed it. I removed the HomePod from iCloud, and then removed it as an accessory within the Home App.

I then setup it up again and now it all works.
