Apple tv is not working on chrome or firefox

I've tried streaming See on 3 different android devices using both chrome and firefox. The show started playing and then stopped 10 minutes in and all day today I haven't been able to play it again. I've tried on wifi and data, neither connection made a difference. I've also tried different shows and none are working.

Hi, I'm also having this issue. I've tried on PC on Chrome and Firefox. If I refresh and try again it seems to work, but after about 15mins of stream time it kicks me out again (back to what the OP has posted) and I have to refresh again to get back into it. This is ridiculous.... the platform is clearly not stable.

I started in Firefox on PC. Had the same issue of video stopping after ten or so minutes. Tried Chrome and it wouldn't play at all. Did the user agent trick...yay, video played in Chrome! For about ten minutes and stopped. This product has been out for a week. It's ridiculous this is still an issue. I just want to watch For All Mankind on my Windows computer. I guess that is too much to ask for. I'll just go back to Hulu and Netflix. Apple should have just been upfront that the service was only meant to work on their devices.

So here's the deal... Apple obviously did not QA (quality assurance) browser support at all. Maybe just some random passionate engineer got it pushed thorugh even though it was not a priority for launch. That's unfortunate that marketing and PM's (Product managers) did not feel it should be a first class citizen for launch.

What is to be done now?

Given that apple support has not responded to any of us, I'd say anyone wanting browser support for apple tv + should just cancel and provide feedback or file a support ticket. Honestly I don't think they really care. This was an initiative pushed through and I don't feel like anyone is at the wheel. Great follow through Apple! Dooming your video streaming service before it could even begin!

As to the god-honest-problem here? It's possible it's a session timeout set at around 12-15 minutes. But I'd suggest it's more likely a DRM issue where some apple exec has decided to be over-zealous with the browser restrictions cause they are so paranoid about their stuff being pirated. Who is hurt by DRM again? Is it the pirates? No apple, it's always the customer. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, HBO, and many others learned this long ago.

Apple, do yourselves a favor and hire some engineers from the other streaming services. You can surely afford to pay them.

BTW, I'm available for hire as well.

Having to get up every 12 minutes to refresh the browser, manually find where i was in the episode ánd select the subtitles again on my laptop that is hdmi cable connected to my tv almost made me buy an apple tv.

Seriously its been one week...

In other news: Apple now has $245 billion cash on hand, according to its first-quarter 2019 earnings report.

Same problem, I've tried Chrome and Firefox.

Chrome won't play at all due to it never buffering the video. Tried with AdBlock completely disabled and with Incognito mode. It sits at a black screen with 0:00 to the left of the time bar.

With Firefox I managed to watch 2 episodes. The first episode was blurry for the first few minutes before cleaning up, the 2nd stopped twice in the middle of playback but was able to resume. The third attempt to watch an episode started out fine for about 20 seconds then stopped and killed the player in the browser. After refreshing it wouldn't buffer anymore.

AT&T DSL, 40Mbps, I can stream 2 1080p60 streams from Youtube and Twitch simultaneously but Apple can't manage a single TV episode without issues. Canceled for now, will see if it works any better next year.

Solution: As soon as you click to play the episode hit the forward 10 button, to the right of play at the bottom. If you don’t have those options at the bottom of the screen try refreshing. If that doesn’t work then try sending Apple a strongly wondered letter.

Shout up to some other guy for finding this, good luck.

Also Apple, what the **** are you doing? Windows is a reality we all live in, you can’t roll out a video service without adequately testing it on your rival OS and browsers. Honestly I was excited to see this coming, one of the better moves I’ve seen from Apple in a long time; but the end result made me realize what I knew all along. Maybe Apple thinks a little too highly of themselves, and doesn’t realize how many of their customers aren’t glued to their Iphones and also use windows for work and home computing because it is more efficient, cheaper, and the industry standard in many places. Anyways I love you Apple, always have, just disappointed.

Same for me. When you check the browser console you can see:

Chrome: Uncaught UNKNOWN_ERROR: UNSUPPORTED_ERROR at VideoMediaExtension.handleHlsError...

Firefox: JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

Edge (I did not expect much...): Exception thrown and not caught. Invalid key.

This is really, really bad. It would be better to write browsers are not supported...

I was able to watch the first 4 episodes of See on Windows 10 Chrome, but like many others, the stream would stop every 10-15 minutes, forcing me to refresh the browser, click on the Resume button, then forward to the place it left off. Very annoying.

I also tried accessing Apple TV+ on my Roku TV. It's not listed under Streaming Channels, but when I do a search, I see an entry for "Apple TV+ to launch on November 1 (2019)". Clicking on that brings up 2 free channels, "Tech X" and "Now You Know". I have no idea what these are, but they are obviously not what I'm looking for. I even tried on my Amazon Fire TV Stick and couldn't find it.
