Right Speaker sound is distorted when you check in volume settings.

After upgrading to OS 10.14 Mojave the right internal speaker is now distorted.

when i open the settings-sound and then when i adjust it to totally left side, the distortion is no more.

but when i drag it to totally right side, i am getting really low sound, you can say it is distorted

It's doing this with any audio playing back--system sound effects, streaming video, Quicktime player, etc. I doubt it's a physical issue because it was fine prior to the upgrade. I've restarted several times. Turned off core audio via Terminal to get that to reset. Any suggestions what to try next?
