ipad in use by another user

I upgraded to Catalina, and ever since I've been having a weird notification show up: "This iPad is in use by another user on this Mac." I don't have one currently connected, yet this message keeps appearing. And appearing. Last time, I had to dismiss over 100 of these notifications.

It's kinda annoying.

Any ideas what the heck is going on?

I don't know the cause, but I received a message after the upgrade that claimed a new iPhone had connected to my FaceTime.

What does "connected to my FaceTime" mean exactly?
