iPhone8: How to put subtitles ABOVE the grey control bar (not under)

Dear community members, I have a question about how to put video subtitles above the grey control bar on iPhone8.

On iPhone8, subtitles are hidden by grey control bar like in the first picture below. However, this is inconvenience when I'd like to read subtitles and use the bar at the same time.

Does anyone know how I can make it show subtitles above the bar (or on the video screen) like iPhone X and newer ones.
