iPhone 8 microphone only works for Siri and dictation

I’m having some trouble with my iPhone 8, this issue started yesterday in the morning. The first time I noticed it was when I was trying to send a voice note on WhatsApp and when I played it I couldn’t hear literally anything, just like a “zzzz” noise, it’s really weird. I didn’t really payed too much attention since I was busy and thought it was because of the phone’s case. Then I called someone and that person couldn’t hear me at all but I could hear him. When I record voice memos or a video on Snapchat is the same problem, all I can hear is a “zzzz” noise. For some reason the microphone only works for Siri and dictation and when I record a video with the camera. I dropped my phone to the floor accidentally yesterday before this happened, I don’t know if that can have something to do with this problem. Can somebody help me with this?

If this started after the iPhone was dropped, that could be the cause. However, you might find some of the troubleshooting suggestions here to be useful, so I recommend giving these a try: If the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch aren't working

If the issue persists after you try those steps, getting in touch with Apple directly would be a good next step: Contact Apple Support
