Can not access Apple TV+ on my 3rd gen Apple TV

I activated Apple TV+ and while it works great on my iPhone, I can’t get it to work on my 3rd gen Apple TV. I get the auto request on my phone and I select allow.


But the screen goes black or just says “accessing tv” before saying the Apple TV cannot connect to the server.


I’ve checked the software update and it says it’s up to date. I also tried restarting the Apple TV. I’ve also tried selecting “try Apple TV+ for free” but it says “no in-app purchases.”


I’m signed into with my Apple ID as I can access my purchases. Has anyone with the 3rd gen Apple TV had this issue? Were you able to get it to work? It’s disappointing that have this subscription that I can’t make use of my AppleTV.


Any help would be appreciated.

SOLVED!!! I just figured it out myself. I logged out of my Apple ID on the Apple TV and logged back in. And now it works!! I figured and a restart would work the same but I guess not.
