Final Cut Pro doesn't have effects available for me. Download additional content just says "Mac is up to date"

Hi, I just got the Final Cut Pro free trial version around 5 days ago and I noticed the sound effects option is completely blank. I have been trying to figure it out on my own but there is not a lot of info on how to get it. The Download additional content just says "Mac is up to date" no option to get additional download and I tried to download the FCP Content and it just says "Final Cut Pro X supplemental content can't be installed on this disk. A qualifying copy of Final Cut Pro is not found. Maybe it is because I am using the 30 day free trial?

I would really appreciate some help on how to hopefully explore around the editing software and use of the options given to me. I would love to use this editing software to edit my videos (which would need the sound effects option) and then buy the program real soon.

The document that Al linked seems to show that Audio browser isn't available in the trial version.

Is this version 10.4.7?

What OS are you using?

Don’t know if this will work but trying renaming the application Final Cut Pro and then seeing if the additional content will download. Software Update can be slow to respond and gives the OS priority, or other system updates are a little hidden.

There are some limitations using the trial.

Here is the Official List for Mojave users.

There may be changes for Catalina that are not listed yet including sounds??

As I recall the Sound Effects were included in previous versions, but there has always been some limits in the Trial Version.

Try to download the additional content again.

Right click on the application in the Applications folder and select Rename.

In the Audio browser in FCP in the upper left there’s a popup menu. Mouse down on it and see if anything appears.

You can of course import any other sound effects that you can find online.

If you have iMovie there are the iLife Sounds that are nearly as good and in some things better than FCP X SE.

Did you try to download after you renamed it?

Nothing shows up in the popular menu after that?

It may be a problem with the trial version of 10.4.7. I don’t remember it being a problem in earlier trial versions.

Hmm, that's weird that an updated Mac wouldn't allow me to use the sound effects. Is there anything else I can do to maybe delete it and re run it. I was really counting on the free trial. What if I got a free trial on another Mac and used my fathers email address. If the sound effects are still not available then the free trial must not work correctly.
