So I have gotten it to work on iOS but the problem is the expense of the solution. I use a Titan Two connected via USB-C hub but unfortunately this requires a PS4 controller bc that’s the only thing that can connect via usb that I own. I am able to make use of the different thumbstick curves and button swaps as well as decrease deadzone via the software that’s available with Titan Two. It’s pretty expensive and audio must be via headphones using PS4 controller but the experience is quite enjoyable. It can be a wire free experience via Bluetooth with the Bluetooth module for the Titan which totals is ~ $130-140 on top of the price of the elite 2 and PS4 controller. All of which could be avoided if Apple just added support. Not that complicated at all but I guess this thread hasn’t made it in front of the right person yet.
Attached is a photo of the entire setup. It’s ridiculous but it works. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xVCAptJrMbDjpWfYDMqMwkum2kBUgUnR/view?usp=drivesdk

Apple aren't listening here. Assume there are no short term plans to support anything other than the following:
tt2
I have tried recently and haven't been able to. There has been no update to the OS which is how we anticipate the compatibility will be allowed. IF compatibility ever happens it will likely be through an OS update of some kind. We could even be waiting for iOS 14 before this happens, this is speculation, there is no way to know for sure. Apple has been silent on this with no response.
The best course of action is to go put in feedback at their website and hope enough people make enough noise for them to do something about it.
Profiles are loaded onto the controller’s hardware storage. That’s why it takes so long to apply changes to a profile on Windows or Xbox.
For iPadOS 14, you can connect the controller and use basic functions such as using any of the buttons, changing profiles, switching the trigger sensitivity, etc. It’s highly unlikely that any other functions like remapping profiles from the device will be coming soon.

On this page they clearly state the Elite Controller should be able to work with iOS.
They are adding the controller support on ios 14 this fall!
They are already compatible with Microsoft’s other Xbox controller so it should just be adding this new one to the line of code to the permitted bluetooth accessories list. Ive seen arguments that since the Elite Series 2 has additional buttons (paddles), that could be the issue, but iOS is already compatible with SCUF controllers which have the same additional paddles. It really is Apple just being unaware or ignorant of the issue which is inexcusable since this controller has been out for nearly 8 months and there are numerous threads asking for the add. If they are/were unable to add it for some unknown reason, at least have the courtesy to tell the community about it
Just tried tonight and still no luck. iPhone still can’t even discover the controller. Either have to switch to Android or return the controller.
It’s finally coming in iOS 14!
It is supported in iOS 14 just been using it
iOS 14 will support the Xbox Elite Series 2
The fact that it is the end of January and the controller has been available for 3 months and this issue is still not solved is a joke. It is such a simple fix on Apple's part too which is why I am frustrated. The entire reason I purchased the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, considering I already had the Series 1, is for the added bluetooth functionality, so I could play on my iPad Pro. It shows Apple is not keeping up with current trends, especially within the mobile gaming industry, as well as that they do not update their bluetooth-enabled accessory list very often. I have written numerous complaints about this issue on apple.com/feedback and I advise that everyone do the same to help expedite this process. Apple, if you are reading this, please add the controller to the bluetooth supported accessories list, so we can all enjoy gaming on your amazing devices with the top controller on the market currently.
Confirmed, iOS/iPadOS 13.4 does not include compatibility for the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 model 1797.
Probably none of that. Just the controller and the back paddles as they're programmed. To set the three presets, you'll most likely still need a Windows PC or an Xbox (haven't tried it yet, though).
Still not supported! This is bait and switch advertising by both Apple and Microsoft. I really enjoy playing Fortnite on my 2018 iPad Pro. I have 5 of the latest Apple devices in reach. I’m really disappointed...
