They do not currently have support for this game pad.

Please go to https://www.apple.com/feedback/

and place feedback on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and MacBook links and suggest adding support with valid reasons why it would be beneficial to Apple Arcade. let’s make it happen!

I Was looking forward to having one controller for all my gaming needs, be it Xbox, PC, Apple Arcade or any game.

All I could find on controller support was that Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth (Model 1708).

I paired my old Xbox controller and new elite controller to my friends android and they both came up as Xbox Wireless Controller.

I have come to the conclusion that the elite 2 controller is not compatible yet on Apple platforms 😢

I really hope they introduce support for the Elite Series 2 (Model 1797) soon as it would be a great addition to any household who loves gaming.

I have contacted Apple support and would tell all of you to go to Apple feedback and request the add the series 2 include the model number

so they know people want this

I spoke with the support person and they said they would pass it to the software team to add the model number but also to do Apple feedback to get it does ASAP

instead of complaining as I’m seeing some people do

just put some effort in and we will get it sooner

The fact that it is the end of January and the controller has been available for 3 months and this issue is still not solved is a joke. It is such a simple fix on Apple's part too which is why I am frustrated. The entire reason I purchased the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, considering I already had the Series 1, is for the added bluetooth functionality, so I could play on my iPad Pro. It shows Apple is not keeping up with current trends, especially within the mobile gaming industry, as well as that they do not update their bluetooth-enabled accessory list very often. I have written numerous complaints about this issue on apple.com/feedback and I advise that everyone do the same to help expedite this process. Apple, if you are reading this, please add the controller to the bluetooth supported accessories list, so we can all enjoy gaming on your amazing devices with the top controller on the market currently.

That article is talking about Android. There is no reason though that the Elite would not work with iOS except that Apple needs to whitelist the Elite 2.. This is 100% an Apple problem with a simple fix that Apple will not address because they are a small company and need more suckers to buy there products before they have the money to hire more people to work on this.

It’s not that - the controller sends commands that are identical to those sent by standard controllers; the mapping is in the device itself. The device receiving the “A” button input can’t tell if it was from a paddle on the back or a button on the front.

At this point I’m sure it’s either a priority issue and they haven’t gotten to it, or it’s a choice due to experience - you can’t customize the controller on your Mac or iOS device, so it’s an incomplete experience. I think most of us would accept the latter, but it tends not to be Apple’s style.
