They do not currently have support for this game pad.
Please go to https://www.apple.com/feedback/
and place feedback on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and MacBook links and suggest adding support with valid reasons why it would be beneficial to Apple Arcade. let’s make it happen!
Xbox Elite Controller Series 2

I CAN connect my Elite2 controller via Bluetooth to my Mac mini pro. However, Steam does not detect the controller.
My mac has Catalina 10.15.1 installed. Hopefully 10.15.2 will fix this and the egpu/hdmi problems I am having. 🤦♂️
This is crazy, Apple just update the software to allow the new controller. Obviously you have a lot of people who bought the Elite Series 2 for the bluetooth connectivity just like me. Have tried to connect to my iPhone 11 Pro Max with nothing, and my Macbook Pro with it finding the controller but steam would not recognize. Come on!
I have now tried on multiple games on my friends s10. Works with racing car games but for shooters the triggers LT and RT do not register any button press. Not just iOS issues may be a controller support issue. Not sure what is different from original controller to the elite internally but compatibility issues everywhere
For the first time sitting across the dinner table my mom pulls out her android and I was thinking, I bet that connects just fine with the Xbox elite series 2. I bet I would have a more enjoyable experience on that phone. Then I thought to my self, “holly smokes I’m an iPhone XS Max owner and I’m envious of an Android?!?!”
you know what? I’m going to test it.
Just found out that the thumb stick buttons and the select/start button doesn’t function on the Xbox one S controller for IPhone. It seems likely the same will be the case for the elite controller, if/when iOS supports it.
I have contacted Apple support and would tell all of you to go to Apple feedback and request the add the series 2 include the model number
so they know people want this
I spoke with the support person and they said they would pass it to the software team to add the model number but also to do Apple feedback to get it does ASAP
instead of complaining as I’m seeing some people do
just put some effort in and we will get it sooner
That's a good point. I'm on the iOS public beta right now so I added the bug in the Feedback app on my iPhone as well. Selected iOS & iPadOS section and then for the area the bug is located I selected "Game Controller Framework" and "Incorrect/Unexpected Behavior" for the feedback type. Hopefully this helps Apple detect and fix the bug sooner.
+1 For iOS 13 support the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller 2. Disappointed I can't use my recently new controller, would open me up to Apple Arcade. I also send them them feedback, everyone send them feedback please. thanks
I returned the Elite controller before the stores return policy lapsed. I also deleted the iOS apps I had installed that allegedly use Xbox controllers. I’m disappointed in both Microsoft and Apple on this one.
I would love to see this supported as I play on Xbox there is no way I can go back to a normal controller to play Apple Arcade
On my phone Apple TV and iPad
it would be beneficial for Apple Arcade to
Please Make This Happen!!

I put this under software hardware compatibility
on Apple TV iPad iPhone and all Mac’s
Please add the feature~ I just got my new iPad Air last night and I cannot connect my Elite series 2. I’m sure you’re going to have many more requests as people are upgrading to the new iPad for gaming this Christmas. Gaming is the wave right now please make the devices compatible.
Still not supported! This is bait and switch advertising by both Apple and Microsoft. I really enjoy playing Fortnite on my 2018 iPad Pro. I have 5 of the latest Apple devices in reach. I’m really disappointed...
It's just a real shame because Epic Games have just updated Fortnite with the improved joystick compatibility and 120 FPS ProMotion support for the 3rd generation iPad Pro. I am also very disappointed, However Apple could redeem themselves by adding support for the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller.
Moral of the story is don't buy Apple products. Blaming Microsoft when this is all Apples faults is very unfair. All Apple would need to do is allow the Bluetooth ID for the Elite 2 and everything would be okay. This is Apple though they know best and likely care to put the time into the code.
The fact that it is the end of January and the controller has been available for 3 months and this issue is still not solved is a joke. It is such a simple fix on Apple's part too which is why I am frustrated. The entire reason I purchased the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, considering I already had the Series 1, is for the added bluetooth functionality, so I could play on my iPad Pro. It shows Apple is not keeping up with current trends, especially within the mobile gaming industry, as well as that they do not update their bluetooth-enabled accessory list very often. I have written numerous complaints about this issue on apple.com/feedback and I advise that everyone do the same to help expedite this process. Apple, if you are reading this, please add the controller to the bluetooth supported accessories list, so we can all enjoy gaming on your amazing devices with the top controller on the market currently.
