Just bought an Epson V600 scanner. Hooked it up as detailed by Epson. Downloaded and installed the latest software from the Epson website. However, when I hit "scan" it says it's not connected to my computer. I have a Mac Pro from 2008. Running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6. Any suggestions?

When you downloaded the software and drivers did you make sure they were the correct drivers
and software for Mac OS X El Capitan. Click on the link below.
The page should open with Mac OS X 10.11.x selected, but if it is not then select it from the
Operating System selector. Make sure you download and then install all available from
Recommended For You, Drivers, Utilities and ICC Profiles.
Open System Preferences> Printers & Scanners and make sure your scanner has been added.
Also try the Image Capture app in your Applications folder.

great machines, how is yours?
So I called Epson. Within 5 minutes a rep was on the phone. Walked me thru downloading the software, configuring the settings and got it working in about 10 minutes. I was thrillingly surprised! Thanks Epson customer support.
Below is what shows up which appears to be the correct driver software, Yes? Then there are several other files (image capture + about 7 utilities). Do I download all of them?
