cant get captive portal sign-in page to ope

4th year, same problem, at our winter digs outside USA, think 3rd world. 2 different macs, 2 different iPhones. Turn on wifi and go to network, and MBP and iPhone think that logged in and say wifi on , but w/o captive ISP log in page, with different UN and PW not on line. As in past years I found ways to trick system to open . But now no matter settings, MBP and iPhone automatically say online, when not. Changed all settings in network to force manual sign in. Even erased PW for router and captive in keychain. Doesn't work. Turn wifi on and MBP-iPhone immediately say online. Doesn't happen on neighbors non-apple os systems. At local ISP say never heard of this problem.

Hello ArmandoWyo,

Thanks for posting to the Apple Support Communities. I understand that all Apple devices are not connecting to the captive network. I'll do what I can to help.

You've done some great steps already. These might also help:

Thanks Sterling,

I’ll study these offline and give them a try and report back.

Don’t know if this helps you, but my work-arounds have been to open some other app that works with an online connection, such as Mail and click on Get Mail or Safari click on captive sign-in webpage. Somehow these can cause the captive sign-in page to open, even after computer or phone think I'm already online. These worked before, but system seems to have AI, and doesn’t work but few times.

Got sign-in page 2 days ago, after being unable to go online for 3 days, by coincidentally clicking Airpdrop, and captive wifi sign-in appeared. Almost seemed to have reset system b/c next time turned wifi on and clicked on network, sign in page appeared. worked 2 days. today doesn’t, but safari trick does — for now.

Is there a fallback that will allow me to manually open sign-in page?

wish i could contact Apple support but out of US, and in gen., I think forum more help than Apple chat.

Thanks.
