macos 10.15.1 boots with screen at full brightness

MacOS 10.15.1 - After installing, every time I reboot my iMac my screen is set to the maximum brightness. I can adjust it in system preferences, but I have my screen calibrated to a specific brightness for photography. I have "Automatically Set Screen Brightness" UNCHECKED so it shouldn't make any changes. Any ideas how to keep the brightness set where I had it when I shut down.

This really works on my MBP! Thanks for the tip! Before Apple really fix this terrible issue, I guess many raising hand exercise to do.

Got OS X 10.15.3 last night. It did not fix this issue. <sigh>

It seems it indeed has fixed it. Least in my setup I can not reproduce it.
