Muffled, lower sound through an AirPods Pro ear tip

Noticed that one AirPods Pro ear tip had a significantly lower sound level.

The issue was that a piece of the included spare ear tip packaging had peeled off and become lodged inside the part of the ear tip that connects to the AirPod.

The layer of paper/cardboard blocked sound from coming through the ear tip.

Hopefully saving others from some frustration 🙂

The white cardboard blockage is not easily noticeable, especially when the ear tip is on the AirPod.

Initially thinking it was a problem with the AirPod itself, all the typical disconnect/reconnect and iOS settings troubleshooting steps were attempted until it was realized that something physical was the issue.

At least at this point, it doesn't seem possible to get replacement ear tips for the AirPods Pro.

Reached out to the local Apple Store (via an Apple Sales rep) and they informed me that the store doesn't have any replacement ear tips in stock and they weren't sure when they would have them.

An Apple Support rep (online) mentioned that the entire AirPods Pro could be returned (replaced) within the 14 day return period. That seems like a waste if it is just the replaceable ear tip that is damaged, but I suppose that is another option.

Another Support rep attempted to find information on replacement ear tips, but was unsuccessful - this link only has information on replacing an AirPod itself, the charging case, or battery repair service - https://support.apple.com/airpods/repair/service
