Catalina - now can't "Right-Click" to delete a photo

I always put photos from events in Albums, then edit/delete/tag/etc later. Well now, I can't "right-click" to delete a photo. In the past, if you clicked the delete button, it would only delete the photo from the album, so you had to "right-click" for the menu to pop up to really delete the photo and put in trash. Why would they take this away? It's causing a major headache and more work. Am I missing something? Is there another way to delete and put a photo in trash, not just remove from album?

The changed commands are confusing.

But you can still delete a photo from any album or smart album, if you use the key combination command-delete ⌘⌫ .

And if you hold down the command key ⌘ while right-clicking, the contextual menu will again show "delete photo", also in the Image menu.

As a test launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it? (This tells us if the problem is limited to your current library or is more wide spread)

Next log into another user account and see if the problem persists there in Photos. (This tells us if the problem is limited to your user account or is system wide).

Wow, thank you!!! I looked everywhere and tried so many combinations and couldn't find one that worked! This is great! I just tried the command-delete combo, and it actually saves a step because it puts it right in the trash without asking if I'm sure if I want to delete from all devices. So it's even better!

I also tried the command w/right-clicking, and you're right, there is the "Delete Photo" option. I've had Macs for over 10 years, and I'm just finding this out! Doh!!! I use the command key when making shortcuts, but I totally spaced on using it with menus. I'm thinking I'll have to try the command key with other menus. I usually see what the "Option" key brings up, but I guess I totally flaked on the "Command" key. So I've learned a few things today. Thank you so much!
