airpods pro hissing

I actually figured it out. It's an interference problem, as someone suggested. I put mine back in the case and held the button on the back to reset them, and they came out sounding perfect. I hope it works for you.

Yes, after resetting it several times, cleaning them and trying the different earpieces, they said that they will send me new ones and I should send them the old ones when they arrive.

I followed the advice of another person here. I put them back in the case and reconnected them. It took care of the hissing sound which was only in the left AirPod Pro. So far so good.

My Airpods hissing very audible in transparency mode, independent of volume, independent of connection even.

I think they let enough ambient noise through without transparency though, so I switched the on-headphones mode control to switching between off/noise-cancelling, instead of the default transparency/noise-cancelling. (settings/bluetooth/airpods/(i)/noisecontrol)

I just called Apple up and they are sending me a new left AirPod at no additional charge.

Guys I have found re-pairing buds fixes issue but it's truly annoying and not a permanent fix I believe this is a FW issue and hope it's fixed soon..

There are a few things I'd like to have you test out, to see if it impacts this sound you are describing:

-Are you hearing this sound while in standby, or while on a call or listening to different media?

-Does the sound go away or change when you adjust the volume lower?

-Do you hear this sound when you have a certain noise-control mode enabled, or do you hear it with all three noise-control modes? AirPods Pro Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode - Apple Support.

-If you pair your AirPods Pro with another compatible device, do you hear the same sound? Connect and use your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support.

Keep me posted by replying back with responses to the above questions.

Talked with apple support today. I will get them replaced and see if the problem persists.

Reset worked for me all 3 modes now clear.

I'm so "happy" to see that I'm not the only one !! FYI I already had this problem and I exchanged but I have exactly the same problem with those received :(

Otherwise all the same ... With the reduction of noise / mode transparency is a terible auditory whistling and transformation sound, all off is perfect.

I had this issue when I changed from one phone to another. There's actually three sound settings for airpods; one is noise cancelling and this removes the hissing. Open the ipod case and in setting; via bluetooth; once connected click on the 'i' for the ipods. This takes you into the settings and the settings can be changed; thus removing the hissing noise!! :) happy days...

I too am starting to experience this with my left AirPod Pro. It seems that whenever a sound is made outside the AirPod I start to hear a static sound like when I walk, someone talks, or if I move my head. This tells me that it might be a microphone issue with the left AirPod. If I am still experiencing this I will call Apple Monday. Hopefully it will resolve itself on its own.

My right AirPod does the same. Only in noise cancellation mode. My sound is more like a gentle static. Static that rises and falls almost like a wave. Thought I was having hear issues for the first week of owning these, but it’s definitely the AirPod. Drives me crazy. I hope Apple fixes this!

me too. only the right earbud has the hissing sound but it disappears after I took it off and put it back on. Apple, please fix this problem !!!

I'm experiencing the same issue, it appears to only be the right earbud. Happens at all times calls, music, transparency or cancellation. Only obvious when at low volume but it's constant. Paired with multiple devices as well.
