ECG not available

Hello,

Im originally from Romania. During my travels I bought Watch series 5 in Japan.

It seems I don’t have the ECG function available regardless of where I am. Is it because the watch was bought from Japan (not supported ecg country)?

Since I don’t live in japan is there any way I can activate the function?

what if in the future japan becomes one of the supported countries, would my watch suddenly have the function?

I was expecting it to work considering that the hardware is there and my location isn’t Japan anymore...

please help

I had no idea, would I have known I wouldn’t have bought it from japan.

question: if japan decides to accept the ecg function, would this watch retroactively have the function or any item manufactured before the date of approval will stay with the limitation in place?

for it to work it has to be enabled where you are

and it has to be enabled where it was purchased

there is no way to go around it

I would assume it would work when japan approve it or first watchOS update after japan approves it
