Downloaded a fresh copy of Mojave installer from the App Store, and when it runs, get
This copy of the Install macOS Mojave application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS.
iMac 27", OS X 10.11
Trash it and download another one.
If that doesn't work then try installing it in Safe Mode:
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support
Delete the installer if it is sitting in your Applications folder"
"Install macOS Moajve.app"
Be sure to empty your trash, and try again.
If your download speed is in question—connect to a different Network and try again.
