Does the Sync through Finder transfer purchases from the iPhone also?

Now that there's no iTunes in Catalina, and we back up and restore devices through Finder now, how do we transfer purchases from the iPhone to the iMac? Will this Sync button do that or are there extra steps?

If you purchased music through the iTunes Store or books from iBooks, they could be on your iPhone and not your Mac. If you purchased apps on the iPhone, then the Mac doesn’t keep track of them.

Anyway, transferring purchases from iPhone to Mac works the same way using MacOS Catalina and Finder as it did using MacOS Mojave and iTunes.
