Apps are managed on the device (e.g., iPhone), not on a computer. Also see: Changes in iTunes 12.7 - Apple Support

Thanks for reply. My problem is that I have some Apps on an iPhone which were not from the APP STORE such as a security app or a banking app but I do not know how to copy that to the MacBook air. I got the calendar and other Apps such as that over so are apps such as banking apps a different category of app.
I don't know of any way to install an app on an iPhone other than from the App store (unless the phone is jail broken and that cannot be discussed on this forum) so I don't know how you have apps on the phone that are not from the App Store.
I also know of no way to transfer any app from an iPhone to a computer.
iTunes is no longer used to manage iPhone apps. See: Managing apps with iTunes 12.7 or later - Apple Community
Thanks, , but since iTunes is not used what is used?
