MacBook Pro 13 inch always battery icon always says charging even when not plugged in.

For the past several days my MacBook battery icon says that it is charging even when not plugged in. I have shut the computer off and restarted it but it still says it. The charger isn't plugged in and this what it shows. Is it no big deal or could there be a bigger underlying problem?
