Haven't used my series 1 watch in 2 years and can't get it to pair with my new iPhone 11. I have tried everything recommended online. Restarted both many times. Talked with Apple support and they said it was because it had not been updated. How in the world can you update it if you can't get it to pair?

Have you tried to wipe it clean and then set it up as a new Watch ?

You would need an iPhone still running iOS 12.
Guess I'm out of luck. Don't have one of those.
There may still be some trade in value on the watch.
