Just got a TV 4k.
ive tried setting it up every way possible: through other device, manual whatever. While trying to sign in to iCloud or App Store of whatever I enter my Apple ID, then password. I get the spinning circle for a while and then it dumps me right back to the login screen again. I can’t get it to actually log in - but it’s not rejecting the password or anything like that. Just won’t actually sign in.
Possibly the internet connection or home network needs a bit of TLC. What you describe could happen when the device can’t reach the internet servers. Verify the network settings.

No that is fine. Every other device works properly and the Apple TV itself was able to download the updated tvOS and install as well as propogate all of the new splash screens for Disney+ which just came out and download the video screensavers. The internet connection is working fine.
So, your Apple ID account works fine for the iTunes Store and App Store and any subscriptions, but just not for iCloud? Is that the same account?
