My Camera roll is acting weird

i was wondering why on all my pictures on my camera roll there was an exclamation point on the bottom right of my pictures and they dont come out clear and it doesnt allow me to share them

That exclamation point on your iPhone photos means that those photos are a compressed copy of the full-resolution originals that are stored in your iCloud account.


It likely means that your iPhone (or other iDevice) storage is running low and iOS/iPadOS recognized that your device needed to conserve space.


You can check your settings for this by going to Settings > Photos App > and see if you checked Optimize Storage


You can visit iCloud.com and see the full-res photos and download them as well.


As I understand it, if you want to edit an image that's compressed, iOS/iPadOS downloads the full-res version for that too!
