Nightstand mode does not display horizontally

If I charge my Apple Watch with the side buttons up, nightstand mode shows the time in the right position (horizontally). But if I charge it with the side buttons down, it displays the time in the vertical position (see photo). Is there any way to change the settings such that the time is shown horizontally when charging with the buttons down? (The reason I want to charge it with the buttons down is that I use the Mophie 3-in-1 wireless charger, and the stand for the watch is not flat but has a space for the wheel at the end, so in order to charge the watch straight, I must charge it with the side button/wheel down.)
