iPad Recovery Failure

Hi, I have an iPad 4. I plugged it in one day and the Apple logo just started flashing. I decided to do an Apple dfu recovery. When I started that everything was going well, until it just says waiting for iPad. It does that perpetually. Does somebody have any idea what's going wrong. Thanks.
