iPad 7 stuck in DFU/ recovery mode

tried apple suggestions to restore, took it to local apple store for them to restore but no success!…Apple want £255 to repair, seems a lot for a iPad just 3 years old!…have anyone else had similar problems and found a solution? Someone suggest manualy opening iPad might solve it?

Having received a diagnosis from an Apple technician, you have very likely exhausted steps to revive the iPad. Out-of-warranty repairs of an otherwise undamaged iPad are charged at a flat-rate - this typically being c.60% of the “as new cost” of the device.


For qualifying devices, in lieu of attempting to repair and return your existing iPad, Apple generally offer a rapid exchange for a reconditioned/renewed iPad of the same model and specification - this being much quicker, often being an immediate exchange.


If this cost is unpalatable, you might put the potential repair cost towards that of a much newer and more powerful model, such as the current equivalent iPad9, or the just announced iPad10.


Otherwise, you might try recovery of your existing iPad yourself.

Your iPad contains no user-serviceable parts. Your iPad should only be disassembled or repairs attempted by Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP):

Li-ion batteries should only be serviced by those qualified to do so. If damaged or electrically disrupted, Li-ion batteries can rapidly and catastrophically discharge. Should you choose to “open” your iPad, you do so entirely at your own risk; henceforth, all support from Apple Support - warranty or otherwise - is forfeit.
