Keynote remote connection dropping between iPad and MacBook

To show presentations I create a network between my MacBook and iPad (both fully updated OS and Keynote App). I use my iPad as remote for the presentations. Recently (in the last couple of months) it has been repeatedly dropping the connection and requiring me to close the Keynote App on my iPad and relaunch it. I have been using this presentation technique for a few years and when this problem has occurred in the past, it has been down to a required update, however this time both are fully updated. Distance between them doesn't seem to be the issue as I have tested it with less than a couple of meters apart and it still occurred. No other apps have been running on either devices. I have removed third party malware scanners as I suspected they could be causing it, but no. Any advice appreciated on what could be interfering or causing the signal to drop! Thanks

Hello MRFyfe,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! I understand your iPad has been dropping the connection and requiring you to close the Keynote app on your iPad. I'm happy to assist you with this.

If this is only occurring while using the Keynote app, let's delete the Keynote app and download it again to help eliminate any issues with the app:

If the connection drops on both the iPad and the Mac, powercycle your home network by powering down the modem/router for 10 seconds, power them back up and restart your devices.

Also, check out this article for recommended settings for your router:

Best Regards.
