Contacts app reduced fields

what possesses apple to delete fields and to reduce flexibility? that used to be the domain of Microsoft. I used to be able to enter spouse and kids names into contacts. no more. is there a workaround, other than moving to a non-apple app?

Hello Maggierochester,

What about entering the spouse and childrens' names by clicking the Edit button on the person's Contact's page. You can choose which kind of relationship that person has. Once entered, another field appears inside which you can again choose a type of relationship (spouse, child, mother etc..). Here is a screen shot of what I am explaining. I hope this helps you.
