You could simply use the Apple AirPort Utility App - this is a free download from the Apple App Store - with no subscriptions or in-App purchases.

You don’t need to have an AirPort Router for this to be useful - as this App has an integrated WiFi signal/network scanner that will provide signal strength (in dBm) and network details (Channel, SSID and MAC Addresses) for all networks that it can detect. Usable with all versions of iOS/iPadOS.
