Logic Pro X not working in macOS Catalina 10.15.1

When trying to open Logic Pro X I get a "You can’t open the application “Logic Pro X.app” because it may be damaged or incomplete." message.

Is it possible to re-install the app?

Logic Pro X not responding when I open any project Logic crashes when I try to open any of my projects, regardless of whether they are audio, audio instruments, or a mixture. I have managed to create a new project with nothing in it, which allows me access to the Logic preferences menu. Otherwise, every project I open (all from mid-2017 or earlier) results in the spinning beach ball of death and no response from Logic, so I have to force quit. Grateful for any advice the community has that would allow me to start working on my projects again! I am using: OS X Catalina 10.15.1 Logic Pro X 10.3.0

Unable to Update Apps since updating to Catalina Hi All, A few days ago I updated my macbook pro (mid 2014) to Catalina. Since then I'm unable to update Logic X or indeed any of my other purchased apps. I can connect to the App store, I can see all of my purchases, but under the 'updates' tab I get the message "No updates available, all of your apps are up to date". I only updated to Catalina to upgrade Logic.... Any ideas what I can do? Many thanks : )

Thanks for your reply. My problem is solved. I originally tried to download Logic Pro X again, but it would not download until I had uninstalled the copy on my PC. However, I have just updated Carolina 10.15.1 and this has allowed me to download and install (presumably) over my existing copy.

This message can mean different problems and then different solutions.

First try to shutdown completely the computer and restart.

Can you start Logic directly from the Applications folder? If it works, then you may have a corrupt link in the Dock.

Also, if you do some search on the Web, you will find hints related to clearing some folders in /var/folders. Below an example.

Damaged or Incomplete - Apple Community

It is for Sierra but it may apply to Catalina too. I don't know and no guarantee it will works. Better know what you're doing.
