Hello. I have created a check and credit card register using Numbers. I would like to know if there's a way I can show the current balance in another table.
I would like the new cell to display the current balance, which in this example is the $1,618.75
On a side note - I also tried and failed to make column D always a negative number.

Here is one way.
INDEX(Table 1::E,MATCH(DATE(2200,1,1),Table 1::A,1))
This grabs the balance from the date closest to 1/1/2200.

Glad that is working for you.
About the other. A cell can have either data entry or a formula result.
I don't see a formatting solution that would add your "-".
However, you could modify your formula in the Balance column to subtract a positive entry in the Debit.
I then formatted everything in the Debit column to be red.

Thank you! This works well :) Any idea on that column always entered as a negative? Not a huge deal, I just have to remember to type -
I have it in my calendar to update it in 150 years. No sense leaving it to the last minute.

Here's a simple approach based on the old Numbers 2.3 template (no longer included with Numbers):
The formula in B2 is:
=INDEX(Transactions::F,COUNTA(Transactions::F)+3)
It assumes no blank rows within your body rows. The 3 is the number of Header Rows.
