We've been using G Suite for a couple of years now, and I finally need to rename a user after she was recently married. Does anyone know if I'll be able to simply change the account name under System Preferences > Internet Accounts, or will I have to remove the Google account and re-add with the new name?
Hi Clint. You should be able to go into Google Admin, find the user and open up their settings. You will see Rename User on the left, along with Rest Password and a More menu
In Google admin, you can add a secondary email under the User Information section. Then the old and new email address will both work. Handy for those who don’t know about the name change and send to the old email address
I'm aware of how to make the change in Google Admin. I'm just wondering whether I can also make a simple change on her Mac or be forced to delete the old email address and add the new one. In Internet Accounts, I don't see any way to change her email address to match the change I'll make in Google Admin.
