next song wakes display on iphone

Hello. Little bit old topic, but did not find solution that work to me there. iPhone bought in Europe and there is a "EU Volume Limit" in the Music Setting tab. When enabled never have this wake up problem. When disabled and beyond the volume limit iPhone wakes up on next song. In any case below this volume limit everything is OK. Not a huge issue but I completely do not understand why.

I think, I solved this problem, at least for now... (iPhone 6s) I think it's actually some kind of feature regarding the volume limit function. (It's not a new feature, just a little weird) I've been facing these issues recently too: When I press the vol. UP or DOWN buttons on my earpods (or another headphone) and when a new song comes in playlist, it wakes up the phone's display. But I noticed, that it only happens when the volume level is above a certain value. (Now, I updated to ios 14.1, high volume level is marked with yellow color, I don't remember how it was in previous versions). So the one thing you should try is Settings -> Music -> Volume Limit and turn it ON, and finally the main point, turn on EU Volume Limit. It removes the yellow part from the volume meter when you changing volume level. So basically, this whole display awakening thing is just supposed to be a warning, that you listening music too loud... Btw how could your phone tell you that music is too loud, if you can plug almost anything into that headphone jack..

First, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone

Next, force the Music app to close: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Finally, sign out of your Apple ID under Settings > tap on your name > Sign Out. Then sign back in again. Please note that signing out of your Apple ID may require you to re-download music downloaded for offline listening.

If you're still experiencing this, please reply with whether or not this happens when connected to Wi-Fi, while using cellular data, or both.

Slide the volume bar down. Seems to be a warning of high volume. I connect in my car via a cable from headphone Jack. Kept lighting up every 20 seconds. Lowered the volume and the screen stays off.

I had this problem while using the headphone output. Tried everything but noticed it doesn't happen when connected via Bluetooth. My solution, the only solution I've found is to slide the volume bar down from full. This seems to work. Is the screen lighting up as a warning of high volume?

I tried all the above and it also didn't work for me. I then reset the network settings and this works perfectly.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Once you have done this you will need to sign back into any WIFI you have access to.

Go into your notifications, go to music and turn off ‘lock screen’. This must have been another awkward feature with the latest update.

The solution I found is to go to settings - music - volume limit and then check on EU Volume limit. This solves the problem. Only downfall it limits the volume level.

I tried the suggestion about reset network settings. It didn't work. Another suggestion was to go into settings, go to the music app and set the volume limit. This has worked but obviously it will be quieter. I imagine that connecting through Bluetooth automatically sets the volume limit. It would be interesting to know if using Spotify for eg causes the same problem.

Probably the volume. Turn it down to halfway or less and see if it still lights up on its own. For some reason apple want to remind us it's up too loud

It does the same on my iPhone 8, 64GB. iOS 13,3.

It happens only when im using my earpods or headphones with cable attached to the phone. It doesnt happen when I'm listening on bluetooth spekaer (JBL charge 4).

Did anyone find the solution for this?

Okay I just realized, that the screen is waking up only when im signed in my AppleID and listening to the music.

In case I log out from the AppleID, screen is not waking up anymore. Maybe it'll be helpful for somebody.

I'm no expert but I assumed it's a warning due to the high volume as it assumes you are using wired headphones. You could of course be using Bluetooth headphones. I know mine stopped doing it when I lowered the volume but it was annoyingly low. Perhaps it was under half way before it stopped I can't remember

I've got the same issue. Signing out and logging again to iCloud helped, but for 10 minutes - issue came back.
