Very big pkg-files in private-folder

I'm using macOS Catalina 10.15.1. My hard-drive is 121 GB in total and 35 GB of this is Others when I'm checking the disk-space. I'm running OmniDiskSweeper and there are two big files in the Private folder (private/var/folders/..../com.apple.appstore that are .pkg-files (one 7.8 GB and one 4.2 GB). I know that I should not mess with the private-folder but to me this looks like installer files. Any way to check if these are part of a failed download from Appstore or if there is any safe way to get rid of them to free up diskspace?

  1. Write down the full path to their locations so you won't forget them.
  2. Drag the suspect files to your Desktop.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. If there are no problems over your normal computer uses for the next day or two, then you can delete them. Or, first remove the files to another disk drive for storage before deleting them.
