macOS Ventura automatic deletion of files bypassing the bin

macOS Ventura (latest update) ... for a while now I have been seeing automatic deletion of any file on my Mac (except for iCloud Drive), instead of them being put into the bin first. How do I prevent this from happening?

Why are some random files in Finder suddenly hidden on Mac? Why are some random files in some folders on Finder suddenly 'Hidden'? It looks like they have been deleted (when I have not deleted them).
