On the Catalina Music App, how do I create a playlist using "Search"

In iTunes, I used to create a playlist, then do a search in the music library, and drag individual search results into the playlist. This makes sense to me because I know the songs I want in the playlist, and they come from diverse artists and albums.

In the new Music app, this no longer seems to work. I create a playlist. Then I do a search in the library, and it shows the results (in a matrix, rather than list format) and I can't drag any of the results into the playlist.

This is driving me nuts. Since when, in an Apple app, can you not drag an icon, representing a file???

And if this not the method, what is the method for getting individual search results into a playlist?
