Airpods Pro keep falling out of my ears!

I just got Airpods Pro and they will not stay in my ears for more than a minute or so. I feel them start creeping and I know I have only a second or two before they seem to jump out of my ear as if they were being repelled or something. I have tried every size tip and they all do the same thing. I never had any problems with my old Airpods so this is strange to me. If I don't find a fix I'm going to have to return them as they are basically unusable. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

I was having the same problem and started searching for solutions because I’m outside of my window to return my AirPods Pro. I found a suggestion to wear them upside down, at about the 2:00 position. I tried it and it immediately worked. I did a seal test and it had a seal. Didn’t fall out. I made a call on the phone and on FaceTime and was heard perfectly. It does look silly, but they didn’t fall out. Here’s a photo for reference.

I've been having this issue as well. Mine always popped out whenever I smiled. One thing I've done (just now) that seems to be helping: I realized that I installed one of my AirPod tips incorrectly. I was looking at the animation on how to change tips (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210633) and realized that one of my tips didn't have the same angle as was shown in the animation. I pulled it off, rotated it some, popped it back on, and the fit does seem a bit better. I've tried smiling several times now, and the AirPods seem to be staying in.

I discovered that ear wax or during the day oils that build in the ear canal will make the silicone tips to become a little slippery. So a daily temporary fix I carry packets of eye glasses cleaner (alcohol wipes) and wipe the silicone clean the wipe with a tissue. Then I’ll take the same alcohol wipe and clean my canal out then use the tissue to wipe out excess alcohol and or oil/wax clean. At this point ears and tips are not slippery. I’ve found this helps but have to do daily.

second fix is an article I read where a guy in Italy bought replacement tips that are generic. They are made of memory form. See attached picture. What you do is take the foam head off the generic ones and slide them underneath the silicone tips. Slide them over the stem of the AirPod tip and they slide right up underneath and firm up the tip. The tips are very flimsy and with firm foam underneath they will lodge in place and are supposed to stay in place better.

So I just found a way that works for me. If you position them as I have in the picture. Put them in then turn the stem upwards. Once in that position , press the bottom part of the thickest part of the earbud in towards the canal. The buds seal very nicely. A little odd but works fantastic. I use one large eartip for my right ear, and a medium for my left.

Well I’ve figured out the problem. It’s tiny fine ear hair. If you touch the nub of your ear you’ll feel it. It’s like a peach. I made a 15.00 purchase on amazon and I waxed my ear. I just ate lunch (chewing) and they haven’t fallen out!!!! I couldn’t even talk on a phone call let alone eat something without them falling out Of my ears. It’s the tiny hairs breaking the silicones ability to be direct on the skin. Hope this helps someone out there. It’s been over 2 hours these have been in now with no slipping. I’m actually amazed it worked.

I was having the same problem. The Apple ear tips, while comfortable and an improvement over the 1st AirPods, didn’t provide a secure fit for my ears. The AirPods would start to slip out of my ears affecting the sound quality and would occasionally fall out if I leaned over.

I was able to solve the fit issue with a 3rd party replacement ear tip that I found on Amazon. These have more of a gel feel to them and actually improved the noise cancellation and bass response for me. Search for AZLA SednaEarfit XELASTEC for Airpods Pro.

Airpods now stay put in my ears and are comfortable.

I do exactly as you do with the alcohol wipes. It helps a lot, but they still come loose after 30 mins or so. I also tried the foam tips. Ear wax builds up on them and there’s no cleaning them. plus, the silicone tips are more comfortable.

I think the real solution is going to be some sort of ear piece similar in concept to what Bose has with the QC Ultra earbuds.

The sound quality is EXCELLENT! Definitely my favorite EarPods/headphones, but I agree with this post. They get loose quickly and fall out. Because of that, I don't wear them at the gym or if I'm moving around a lot. Even working in the garden and while completing housework, they will slip out. Hopefully Apple will release foam tips which are great at molding to your ears.

I’m beyond frustrated with my AirPod pros. They will not stay in my ears. This week one ‘popped’ out of my left ear and fell down the side of the airplane seat. I had to get the flight attendant to help me retrieve the AirPod. I’m not seeing any solution to this issue. I agree with others that the ear tips are too short. I’ve tried everything. #applepleasehelp

i have the same problem, I've tried every ear tip, i run 30 seconds and it falls from my ear, as well when i when i'm eating it last 2 seconds such a shame to pay 380 CAD $ to for it, beside the control buttons are so in the wrong place and hard to press them without moving the air pods. i bought my air pods 2 brand new then sold them out in order to buy the pros, so basically i just lost my money for nothing. i'm returning them and i'll be using the wired ear pods. this will be the last thing i buy from apple.

Here is what I received from the Apple Support Communities. I strongly suspect that this will not be poster either, Or they'll post it and say they didn't??

Two suggested solutions for Apple:

First as a containment to the consumer they should require a statement with all advertising and sales literature that "Fit can be an issue and you have 14 days to return them...Good Luck." Also consider putting the Apple Employee who wrote this response through a customer sensitivity session....they clearly didn't pay for their pair!!

Second, the preferred solution, is to consider a redesign or expanding the offerings of Ear Tips. Make this decision and change your answer above to reflect development.

Apple, the ball is in your court on this one. I hope you adjust and correct this issue .

Apple is not reading here. You can give them your suggestions here:
