Airpods Pro keep falling out of my ears!

I just got Airpods Pro and they will not stay in my ears for more than a minute or so. I feel them start creeping and I know I have only a second or two before they seem to jump out of my ear as if they were being repelled or something. I have tried every size tip and they all do the same thing. I never had any problems with my old Airpods so this is strange to me. If I don't find a fix I'm going to have to return them as they are basically unusable. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

This is an excellent idea. Here’s what I just posted:

”250 dollars. That’s what I payed for these. You’re telling me that 250 dollars doesn’t get me earbuds that stay in my ears? That’s outrageous. If I move my mouth at all they get pushed out of my ears. Even if I don’t they make their way out anyway. This is what sets Apple apart from other brands. This doesn’t happen with Apple products. How did this slip through the testing?

My suggestion is that you redesign the tips with a different shape or as foam so they stay in your ears. Then offer that for free to everyone who bought airpods pro, and have it included with the standard version.

People expect a level of quality assurance from Apple and this is ruining that. Before this I could buy any Apple product and be sure it would work as expected. Not anymore.

I discovered that ear wax or during the day oils that build in the ear canal will make the silicone tips to become a little slippery. So a daily temporary fix I carry packets of eye glasses cleaner (alcohol wipes) and wipe the silicone clean the wipe with a tissue. Then I’ll take the same alcohol wipe and clean my canal out then use the tissue to wipe out excess alcohol and or oil/wax clean. At this point ears and tips are not slippery. I’ve found this helps but have to do daily.

second fix is an article I read where a guy in Italy bought replacement tips that are generic. They are made of memory form. See attached picture. What you do is take the foam head off the generic ones and slide them underneath the silicone tips. Slide them over the stem of the AirPod tip and they slide right up underneath and firm up the tip. The tips are very flimsy and with firm foam underneath they will lodge in place and are supposed to stay in place better.

i have the same problem, I've tried every ear tip, i run 30 seconds and it falls from my ear, as well when i when i'm eating it last 2 seconds such a shame to pay 380 CAD $ to for it, beside the control buttons are so in the wrong place and hard to press them without moving the air pods. i bought my air pods 2 brand new then sold them out in order to buy the pros, so basically i just lost my money for nothing. i'm returning them and i'll be using the wired ear pods. this will be the last thing i buy from apple.

So I just found a way that works for me. If you position them as I have in the picture. Put them in then turn the stem upwards. Once in that position , press the bottom part of the thickest part of the earbud in towards the canal. The buds seal very nicely. A little odd but works fantastic. I use one large eartip for my right ear, and a medium for my left.

Well I’ve figured out the problem. It’s tiny fine ear hair. If you touch the nub of your ear you’ll feel it. It’s like a peach. I made a 15.00 purchase on amazon and I waxed my ear. I just ate lunch (chewing) and they haven’t fallen out!!!! I couldn’t even talk on a phone call let alone eat something without them falling out Of my ears. It’s the tiny hairs breaking the silicones ability to be direct on the skin. Hope this helps someone out there. It’s been over 2 hours these have been in now with no slipping. I’m actually amazed it worked.

I was having the same problem. The Apple ear tips, while comfortable and an improvement over the 1st AirPods, didn’t provide a secure fit for my ears. The AirPods would start to slip out of my ears affecting the sound quality and would occasionally fall out if I leaned over.

I was able to solve the fit issue with a 3rd party replacement ear tip that I found on Amazon. These have more of a gel feel to them and actually improved the noise cancellation and bass response for me. Search for AZLA SednaEarfit XELASTEC for Airpods Pro.

Airpods now stay put in my ears and are comfortable.

Another user with the same problem. Mine have fallen out several times, especially the left. I have tried all three sizes several times. But mainly bought these to workout and walk around campus but I almost prefer to use my wired pair. Also the loss of suction totally and completely takes away from the noise cancellation. Might I suggest longer tips, grippier rubber or some sort of winged tip? Didn’t expect to see this many people with the same issue. Happy to know it’s not just me.

when I go for my walk I have to be read to catch the pods when they pop out. I was walking over the bridge the other day & they poped & only for I was quick with my leg they were gone into the rivers& that’s the end of my airpods Pro as the chances of buying 1 pod is very slim. Let’s get it fixed Apple the sound is 1000% & I love them but only for this problem 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

hello everybody! i had the same issue as everyone and almost returned them but i got on youtube and looked it up... those people have an answer for everything. what i found was memory foam replacement tips on amazon. i have had these for about 2 weeks and have not had one slip out since. with the silicon tips they would fall out every few minutes. this is not the fix i was hoping for but it works! only down side is it takes away some of the bass/volume/noise cancellation. i bought the cheapest ones on amazon but if you go for some of the better reviewed ones i’m sure you will have no issues.

I do exactly as you do with the alcohol wipes. It helps a lot, but they still come loose after 30 mins or so. I also tried the foam tips. Ear wax builds up on them and there’s no cleaning them. plus, the silicone tips are more comfortable.

I think the real solution is going to be some sort of ear piece similar in concept to what Bose has with the QC Ultra earbuds.

Airpods Pro keep falling out of my ears!
