Airpods Pro keep falling out of my ears!

I just got Airpods Pro and they will not stay in my ears for more than a minute or so. I feel them start creeping and I know I have only a second or two before they seem to jump out of my ear as if they were being repelled or something. I have tried every size tip and they all do the same thing. I never had any problems with my old Airpods so this is strange to me. If I don't find a fix I'm going to have to return them as they are basically unusable. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

I was having the same problem and started searching for solutions because I’m outside of my window to return my AirPods Pro. I found a suggestion to wear them upside down, at about the 2:00 position. I tried it and it immediately worked. I did a seal test and it had a seal. Didn’t fall out. I made a call on the phone and on FaceTime and was heard perfectly. It does look silly, but they didn’t fall out. Here’s a photo for reference.

Like so many people on this site, I have tried everything I know of, including plastic hooks (the type in my ears and the type around my ears), multiple brands of foam ear tips, and switching left for right and inserting them upside down. Nothing has worked until NOW:

This solution works perfectly: Buy a box of silicone ear plugs from any drug store. Roll one into a long "snake." Break the "snake" in half. Form each piece circumferentially between the ear tip and the body of the AirPod Pro. Insert into your ears and push the silicone toward the inside.

FINALLY, there is NO way these AirPod Pros are falling out of my ears!

I just figured out a way that I can use pggatieneau’s technique of upside down AirPod Pro insertion while fully maintaining the Noise Cancellation mode. If I initially insert them in the usual “stem-down” direction, choose the Noise Cancellation mode in my iPhone, and THEN rotate them to the upside down direction, then Noise Cancellation is maintained.

So after many months of trying, my issue of my AirPod Pro’s falling out is finally resolved, and I’m back to being glad I made the initial purchase.

Shame on Apple so many people have the same issue and no response as to a solution. Well I purchased from Amazon the “proof lab air hooks “ comes as a three pack for GBP10 and tested them buy running, reached a sweat and no issues. So far so good. Usually if I run I have to push them AirPods back in every few seconds. For once I don’t have to. Not sure how long the hooks will last as you have to take them off to close the charger box. But so far so good.

In a pinch.. to ensure they stay in you can rotate them upwards so the rod tip is up top tucked behind the cartilage of your ear..

Another fantastic yet only lasts for 4

months with medium usage is the: AZLA SednaEarfit XELASTEC for Airpods Pro / 3 Pairs (Size MS/M/ML 3Pr) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DS5XWRM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_QGMX3MVBV8PA9V5F3QBN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

These work AWESOME until they get hot, deform and then don’t work anymore..

Honestly, for the amount of money that people spend on AirPods, Apple should be coming up with ways to deal with this issue since it seems very, very prevalent! But I will say I have found the solution that made it possible for me to keep my Airpods and really enjoy them! Hope this helps others. Very cheap solution. Spend $15 and buy Proof Labs Ear Hooks on Amazon and those AirPods will absolutely stay in your ears! Hope this helps you guys! 🌝

OK. I found a workaround for this problem, while I know that its not ideal for a piece of equipment that costs ~$200+, the Airpod that kept falling out, I turned upside down and that has fixed the issue for me. Instead of the stick pointing down, I have it pointing up. Crazy, but its working for me for the time being. The pod that kept falling out was on my left ear. Pictures below, left air the stick is up, right ear stick as normally inserted.

@gqbrooks -- I just tried it with mine and I can't get them to fall out. My only concern is that everyone's going to tell me "you're doing it wrong" (LOL) but I don't care as long as they stay in. The sound doesn't seem any different, however this solution isn't without problems though:

Problem #1: I just made a call and the person said I sounded muffled. I switched them back to their correct position (down) and they said it sounded perfect again. So, this might be great for listening to music and watching videos, etc. but not making phone calls or anything that requires the mic(s).

Problem #2: It's a little more difficult to get two fingers around the stem in order to press and hold.

I, like many others here, had the 1st gen and 2nd gen AirPods and they actually stayed in my ears really well.

With the Pros that I got for Christmas, the right one would stay in for the most part but the left one would start sliding out almost immediately. I tried the solution of taking a tissue and wiping my ear and the silicone tips of the Pros as well, however that only worked for so long.

I love the audio quality and the noise cancellation. It's unmatched. But Apple needs to come up with a solution for this. These were too expensive at $249 for them to not stay in people's ears. Clearly I'm not alone.

With them in ears upside-down, they don't budge. How weird! I guess I'll just be living in the "Upside-Down" #strangerthings (unless I'm on a call)

I know the new tips were a downside but it's not completely Apples fault. For most people the silicon ear tips fit well, but for some they fall out. A fix for this is purchasing foam ear tips from a third party company and using those instead of the silicon apple ones. Unless Apple makes their own foam tips but for now buying third party ones meant for the Airpods Pro will do the job.
