Formatting Table of Contents

I have inserted a ToC for a book I've written in Pages 8.2.1. Problem is, the chapter title is a line below the chapter number. Is there a way of getting the chapter number and its title on the same line in the Table of Contents without putting them on the same line in the manuscript itself?

I did read a post from a year ago where there was a workaround for this, but it seems pretty clumsy to me even though it would certainly work. (Putting, Chapter 1 In the Beginning, and making the text color for "Chapter 1" white and adjusting the margins for the line to mimic a "centered" chapter title. For Apple, that seems so clumsy to have to go through all that for all of my 16 chapters in order just to get what is a standard format for a ToC. Can anybody help?

Hi revpbj,

Use a soft return (shift return) in the body of the document.
