Macbook Air w/ Charging issues.

My Macbook Air (2018) instantly Shuts Down when the magsafe power adapter is connected. At first, it was blinking green and I reset PRAM and the SMC. No fix. Then, I disconnected and reconnected the battery. The charger works now (orange). However, there's a noticeable high pitch whine when it is being charged. Additionally, The computer shuts down whenever the magsafe is plugged in. Should I buy a new Magsafe adapter? I'm concerned it won't fix the problem. All these charging problems occured after the new OS update.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered a cheap, chinese power adapter and it fixed all the problems beautifully. The apple power adapter was causing all the problems. I hope this helps anyone with similar problems.

Hi,

I think it's a hardware related issue. Try to run Apple Diagnostics if it reports something.

If it doesn't help, you'd better contact Apple support or make Genius Bar reservation or take your MacBook Air to Apple authorized service provider to check it up. I assume it's a hardware related issue.
