Sound issue with new Iphone 11 Pro Max

Got my 11 Pro Max on launch day, problems cropped up soon after that, within days.

When talking to people they will start complaining that I am hard to hear, as if I am in a tunnel, in a barrrell, under the covers of a bed, muted, garbled, static. Problem persists on car play, with airpods.

I have voiced this concern with numerous calls with Apple support, my network carrier. My coworker has the same phone with the same problem.

Switched phones, no problems. Used wife's X with my sim card no issues. Android phone sounds better in fact.

Switched sim cards, restored numerous times, same issues. On a replacement phone, same issues.

Apples final idea to try is to restore again with no backup - try a new apple id - that causes issues of its own but am wits end. Is it really possible a backup can get corrupted as Apple is suggesting. How can i recover my pics and music if a backup is bad and we dont know where it is corrupted (pics, music, messages, emails, etc)

Will see if this final solution will work.

Update -

Last week or so ios 13.3.1 was released and after updating the issue SEEMS to have gone away - i say seems since there appears to be still be some people experiencing the same problem.

On my part, people i talk to say they hear me fine. Apple still has not publicly admitted to this issue, no mention of it on the release notes. So Apple it seems quietly addressed the issue...
