Pages documents open on iPad but not on my iMac

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having issue opening your documents in Pages on Mac. These same documents work in Pages on iPad without issue. I’ll be happy to help with this.

When you try to open a document, do you get an error message or anything like that? It may help to make sure Pages is completely up to date:

If that doesn’t help, see if this occurs in safe boot or a new user account to isolate and possibly resolve this issue:

Can you create a new Pages document from your Mac without issue? Do other files open? Is it just happening with the files that you use with your iPad? 

Do you use iCloud Drive to sync your Pages files across your devices? If so, go to the iCloud website from Safari on your Mac. See if you can use Pages there to open your file:
