I am trying to update my iMac to Catalina OS. When I try, I get a message that says, "This copy of the install MACOS Catalina app is damaged and can not be used to install macOS. How do I get rid of this app so I can then install?

Locate the installer in the Application folder and put it in the Trash and then empty the Trash. Then re-attempt to download Catalina.
