ESPN app not installing on apple watch 4

This question was asked recently but not adequately answered. I cannot install the ESPN app on my apple watch series 4. I click install and it just gives me a spinning wheel indefinitely. Someone else asked this question and was told to uninstall the app from the watch, but I can't do that if I can't install it in the first place. I have an apple watch series 4.
